The Colombo bid offered a cost-effective five-day package at US$975 including all meals. There was a range of starred hotels within ten minutes of the convention centre , costing from US$60 to US$130 per night, twin-sharing. The package was priced so as to attract more international delegates. The delegates also pledged a percentage of the proceeds to Tsunami aid.
