Long-time Treasurer Norbert Schmidiger made his yearly report with the positive note that the financial development of WACS has grown over his 22-year-term, which reflects on the growth of the organisation itself. In 1984, the balance was CHF18,170.65 but by 2005, it had grown to CHF465,544. He also mentioned expenses of the WACS Board and Culinary Committee were frugal and that thanks to Peter Knipp, who sponsors running of the website, a cheque for S$28,000 was presented to the Board for the website’s earnings. A clear and long-noticed budget is necessary and Schmidiger insisted all expenditures by the Board and other Committees be costed early. Communication was another key point, Schmidiger asked delegates to increase their support for and use of the website www.wacs2000.org. The Auditors report then confirmed Schmidiger’s report and said they were pleased with responses to the questions they posed.
